POLICY CHANGE
2:59 pm 8/26/2003
Behold. Our newly revised company policy, effective immediately, is as follows:
Ask not what we can do for our recording artists;
Ask what our recording artists can COOK for us.
LAVELLE COOKS FOR US
2:58 PM 8/26/2003
It is Thanksgiving in August for all of us Pilgrims here at Antone's Records. Miss Lavelle toiled in her kitchen for most of the morning preparing quite a feast. The resulting full-course meal included collard greens, cornbread, sweet potatoes, barbequed meat, and vegetarian lasagna. Not surprisingly, her soul food offering is the perfect metaphor [wink wink] to describe her new album, Into the Mystic. Down-home. Rustic. Soulful. Well-balanced. Satisfying.
August 20, 2003:
We should have some Toni Price (aka Ms. October) cover art available soon from her upcoming release, Born To Be Blue, due out 10-21-2003. It should be fleshed out by next week. Check back in a few days for more info.
Congratulations Marcia for winning her second W.C. Handy Award
2002 - Blues Album of the Year

IN THE SPOTLIGHT Featured CDs:
Dreams Come True Marcia Ball, Angela Strehli, Lou Ann Barton
"None of us were real friends before we started this thing," Strehli said. People were just assuming we were this and that, and hell, we didn't even know each other. We admired each other (but) we were too damn busy trying to pull off our own thing.
"The most satisfying part of the whole deal is that we've had so much fun together." "Angela and I wanted to come up with some songs we could do at gigs," added Ball. -> more

Jake Andrews
Jake Andrews
This self-titled recording, following his successful 1999 debut disc, Time to Burn, shows no sign of a sophomore slump, as Andrews skillfully mixes hot licks and solid songs.
